Hey there fashionistas!
This week I’m spicing things up with my wardrobe to set the tone for your Fall. I’m also sharing fashion tips on a fun and flattering 70’s trend turned modern that has been reiterating every season; wide-leg pants!
Even though I have a short stature,I’m always drawn to this piece of garment because of it’s silhouette. It elongates my legs, and accentuates my waistline. If you are short like myself or perhaps you are simply intimidated by this trend, here are a few fashion tips that’ll help you pull this trend off.
TIP #1: PURCHASE A NEUTRAL COLOR SUCH AS BLACK, WHITE, TAN, GREY, OR NAVY BLUE.
These colors can be worn during any season and can be matched very easily.
TIP #2: GO WITH FABRICATIONS THAT ARE APPROPRIATE FOR THE WEATHER.
Consider lighter fabrics such as silk, linen, cotton, rayon, and chambray for Summer and Spring. For Fall/Winter go with wool, tweed, corduroy, denim, and leather.
TIP #3: WEAR WITH PLATFORMS OR WEDGE-LIKE HEELS.
Unless if you are a super model like Gigi Hadid, or Winnie Marlow, you will not be able to get away with wearing these flared pants without heels. Since the pants are super long, it is advisable to wear them with heels. If you fail to do so, they will either sweep the ground and collect dirt, or might even cause you to trip and fall. Don’t set yourself up for disaster!
TIP #4: NIP AND TUCK
Whatever blouse or shirt you decide to wear loose of fitted, It is imperative to tuck it in. The goal here is to create a flattering silhouette, and you wouldn’t want to camouflage yourself in all of that fabric. It just wouldn’t look right, as this trend is about balance. If you are short in height with a short torso opt for cropped tops instead of over-sized ones. Doing so will give you a more slender upper body rather than stubby one.
